Fidel Castro and His Proper Eulogy

With President Obama, the US mainstream media, and other idiotic leftist world leaders such as Prime Minister Trudeau lavishing accolades upon the deceased ex-dictator of Cuba, Fidel Castro, we need to establish a good serving of reality to this event. It’s not so much the world having a short memory as it is the propaganda pandering left that has canonized a dictator who not only victimized those who politically opposed him, but also his own people. If you might just wonder why thousands of Cubans burst into laughter and celebration on the streets of Miami, Florida upon the announcement of Castro’s demise we need only review history to establish why.

The beginning

Fidel Castro began his revolution against the Batista Regime in 1953 out of Santiago, Cuba. Portraying himself as a common man who was just fighting for the liberation of the little oppressed people of Cuba, in actuality, he was the son of a rich plantation owner. Castro’s first attempt at a revolution ended in the deaths of 30 of his comrades, but in 1953 with backing from the Soviet Union and the time tested strategy of Communist propaganda, Fidel’s supposedly noble battle against the rich oppressors began to succeed.

TV re-enactment

It is interesting to note that actor Peter Falk, soon to gain fame in his role as “Columbo” acted in an episode of the Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone. In that particular segment Falk plays a Latin dictator who has just overthrown as Batista like regime. The captured and soon to be executed dictator gives Peter Falk’s character a bit of advice that will eventually result in his undoing as he shows the young rebel rouser a mirror on the wall of his office. The deposed tyrant tells him that it is a magical mirror that will reveal all who will betray him and that it was instrumental in the former dictator’s rise to power. As the story moves ahead Peter Falk’s Castro-like character proceeds to order the execution of all comrades who faithfully followed him through the course of the revolution. It seems that human nature subjects the wicked victor to paranoid delusions.

Bloody legacy

In real life Fidel Castro did much the same thing as the Twilight Zone rebel dictator. Having murdered more than 7 thousand Cuban military and civilian innocents opposed to his overthrow of the Batista regime, a reign of terror gripped the island nation just 90 miles from Florida. Castro used cult hero Che Guevara his right hand man, as no more than a brutal assassin much like Hitler’s fiendish assistant, Skorzeny, was used to kill and intimidate his enemies. The scourge brought about by Castro resulted in Cuba’s loss of prosperity and the entire population being converted to paupers existing on the crumbs of socialism under the new Castro regime. The once dazzling Casinos, Bars, and lavish tourism industry were destroyed using the classic class warfare narratives of the Communist manifesto.

Empty promises

Promising his people education and nationalized medicine became the lies of the Castro intimidation machine as the people barely subsisting on a tobacco and sugar cane crop lived in fear of imprisonment and torture. The only remnants of past prosperity left were the American Detroit built cars of the 1950’s that were continually maintained with the Castro initiated eradication of modern industry in Cuba. Many Cubans actually preferred horse drawn carts to the worn out relics of decades old US made automobiles long since discontinued by Detroit car makers.

Historical truth

As leftist leaders and liberal journalists romanticize Castro’s emergence as a dictator not far from the shores of the US, history reminds us of events not so palatable for Americans as well as Cubans forced to flee the iron fisted rule of the socialist regime. Few seem to recall the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 when the Kennedy White House discovered that Russian built nuclear missiles were being secretly housed in camouflaged launching sites With Soviet trawlers smuggling in more and more warheads and rockets under the nose of the US Naval fleet. The resulting standoff nearly caused a thermonuclear war and global destruction. Fidel Castro voiced his bitter disapproval over Russia being forced to disassemble the arsenal once President Kennedy forced the Soviets to back down.

Choice of words

“Socialism or Death” was a motto that Fidel Castro continually spouted from his bearded mouth for decades as he denounced the US and continued locking up the people of Cuba under trumped up charges and torturing those suspected of not supporting the brutal regime. Many families were separated by the Castro government unable to reunite once he overthrew the Batista government. This however did not stop Castro from sending 2 separate waves of boat people from Cuba to the shores of Florida creating chaos as criminals, mentally ill, and diseased individuals were sent to America so Castro could wash his hands of them. Under President Jimmy Carter’s administration a huge influx of Cuban refugees created mayhem wherever they landed overloading local authorities with requests for food, shelter, and other assistance.

Criminal enterprises

During the years of the Castro regime illegal drug trafficking, counterfeit money laundering, and other illegal activities were conducted to the detriment of the United States all while Fidel Castro proclaimed that the CIA was out to assassinate him. The defense of Cuban air space by it’s Soviet provided MIG fighter aircraft presented a threat to US civilian air traffic as well, but we can rest assured that the liberal US media will continue to sing praises for the life of Fidel Castro and the shadow he cast over Cuba.

Never ending injustice

Under the Obama White House Castro’s regime was never required to stop its human rights violations as even during a US diplomatic visit as Obama orchestrated his supposed legacy of renewing relations with Cuba, dissidents were being rounded up, imprisoned, and tortured. The President’s all important legacy is much tarnished under the criminal reality of the Castro dictatorship and his long standing refusal to grant rights to his people. The filthy villages and shabby streets now stand as a  run-down testament to Castro’s oppression of his own country. It is little wonder that Cubans in Florida celebrated his death not his life or influence in the wake decades of Cuban despair.
